Selection of red giants according to their ABC classification
Red giants have been tentatively classified according to their
position on the red giant branch. The command gk
and the kewword cl allows to select the stars according to their
evolutionary status:
- A : on the Asymptotic branch,
- B : on the ascending Branch,
- C : in the Clump,
- D : Double, that means inside the Hertzsprung's gap
- F : Field, non-member
Example:
gk cl -eq C lists the clump red giants
