mk
with
a list of star numbers, like
mk "list of star numbers"
displays the spectral types of the stars contained in "list of star numbers"
The command meas
does the same job, but
slightly faster.
If the references are also desired, the syntax:
mk -r "star number"
will list the references after the MK types, but for one star only.
If a file contains selected MK types, it is possible to display the MK types
for a star and also the selected type:
mk -a "star number"
mk 1 10 25
lists the spectral types for the three
stars 1, 10, 25
meas mk 1 10 25
gives a similar result.
mk -r 10
lists the references after the data
mk -a 10
lists the MK and selected types
