The prompt mode

The prompt mode is one of the mode provided to query the database. It allows to query the database.

The prompt mode is useful for queries that are repetitive, like searching for data for stars, one by one, or searching for different kinds of data for the same list of stars.

The menu mode is initiated by the command

dbms

If the option -v (verbose) is used, dbms will display aline at each new prompt to inform about the kind of argument that is expected. Enter help at any prompt to get an explanation on the possible data to enter at a prompt.

The command dbms should be issued in the directory of the cluster you are interested in, although it offers the possibility to change the current directory and even start a tcsh shell.
